What is Thread Gloss?

Thread gloss is a specially formulated all natural and non-toxic beeswax and oil blend that coats your thread to prevent tangles, fraying, and brittleness. Think of it as a deep conditioner for your thread and embroidery floss, in twelve fun scents. Made in Issaquah, Washington.

Why do I need Thread Gloss?

Have you ever had to cut your thread short in the middle of your groove because there was a gnarly knot? Using thread gloss helps prevent tangles and knots, taking away all of the frustration of handwork.

What crafts do I want to use Thread Gloss for?

Anything that you're dealing with cotton thread--hand embroidery, hand quilting, cross-stitch, English paper piecing, applique, repairing clothes, whatever. Simply drag your thread across the gloss pot after threading your needle, applying slight pressure on the thread with your thumb, while pulling with your other hand.

We’re doing grandma hobbies by day and clubbing by night.

Smells like sitting on the front porch after a nice rain, sipping a warm peach tea with a little bit of whiskey added in, just for fun on a Saturday afternoon.

Daydream: Contains Beeswax, Coconut Oil, and the following essential oils and extracts: ylang ylang, nag champa, sandalwood, and rose. Reminiscent of reading books on rainy days during college, looking out the window, pondering the future, with a vintage record playing in the background. A peaceful, calm scent blend.

Cozy: Contains coconut oil, beeswax, and the following essential oils: patchouli, vanilla, and cedarwood. Smells like warmth, happiness, and joy. It's that hand-scooped vanilla ice cream cone you're eating after riding your bike to the local sugar shop. It's a hearth surrounded by plants, local art, incense, and vintage records playing. It's like settling into home habits with the one you love after your honeymoon. It's crisp and comforting, woodsy with hints of floral.

The quintessential autumn scent that will make you want to order a venti PSL, scroll Pinterest, and live your unapologetically best basic life. Some things are commonly loved for a REASON, right?

Y2K: Contains beeswax, organic fair trade coconut oil, and the following essential oils and extracts: cucumber, honeydew, jasmine, chamomile. Imagine the era of blow-up neon furniture, colored iMacs, Backstreet Boys posters, beaded curtains, making collages from magazines and playing MASH at a slumber party, passing intricately folded notes in class before most of us had cell phones (and the coolest people had the hot pink Razr flip phones or side-kicks), the height of rom-coms, and low-rise jeans were all the rage. It’s reminiscent of the iconic cucumber melon Bath & Body Works scent from the early 2000s that we all coveted, made modern. Where my cucumber melon girlies at??

Taos: Contains beeswax, organic fair trade coconut oil, organic grapeseed oil and the following essential oils and extracts: vetiver, juniper, creosote bush oil, clary sage, cedarwood, copaiba. This is a very subtle, slightly masculine scent inspired by my very specific experience in Taos and the surrounding areas—trekking around in the high desert plateau and mountains; getting sunburns while hiking on snowy trails one day and alongside bighorn sheep and cacti the next (and watching the bighorn sheep come way too close, with my husband’s arms around me, in awe and totally nervous); eating picnic lunches in the back of our pickup truck; staying in a yellow vintage trailer and feeding the resident pig named Maxine; ridiculous sunsets and views; drinking craft beer; daydreaming, taking pictures of everything. Feeling completely at home in a place we’ve never been before.

Santa Fe: Contains Beeswax, coconut oil, prickly pear essential oil, lime essential oil, smells like a margarita on a terra cotta patio.

Tropics: Contains Beeswax, Coconut Oil, and the following essential oils and extracts: mango, coconut, and sandalwood. Transports you to the elusive tropic anywhere-but-here.

Homestead: Contains beeswax, coconut oil, and the following essential oils: tomato leaf, lemongrass, lemon, basil, and thyme. Smells like you’d imagine a Phoebe Wall print would if it was a real life scene.
